Jean McVey was born in Canada in 1933. While attending Queen’s University at Kingston, Ontario, she met her American husband. They settled in Massachusetts, raising four sons. Her poems are about growing up during wartime, adopting a new country, marriage, children, the familiar, the funny, the fearful. Her work has appeared in The Atlanta Review, The Larcom Review(A Journal of the Arts and Literature of New England, and Merrimack: A Poetry Anthology.
